IDEAS Student Chapter
Interior Designers for Education and Sustainability (IDEAS) is a student organization bringing together the benefits of two professional organizations – ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and IIDA (International Interior Design Association) – to give interior design students an opportunity for professional contacts with the industry and profession. Furthermore, the group focuses on increasing awareness of sustainability in the built environment. The group also works closely with the Interior Design Advisory Board for Virginia Tech.
Because of our relationship with these three organizations, we provide many benefits to our members, including design trips, firm tours, speakers and connections for future careers. Our members work together to help each other with portfolio building workshops, student mentoring and internship searches.
The National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) mission is to champion diversity within the design professions by promoting excellence, community engagement, and professional development of its members.
