Shabnam Kavousi is an Iranian PhD candidate in the Architecture and Design Research Program in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies. Her research interest is in students’ cognitive learning processes in the domain of architectural design problem solving. During the time of her Ph.D., she received a Master of Arts in Education (MAED in Curriculum and Instruction) focused on education psychology in 2014. Her experience as a teaching assistant started from 2009, when she was doing her M.S. of Landscape Architecture in the University of Putra Malaysia, and still has continued by actively participation in foundation design studio. She has presented her research work in several conferences, nationally and internationally, and also published some papers about her studies. She also holds the “Future Professoriate Graduate” and “Cognition and Education” Certificates offered by the Graduate School at Virginia Tech.
