After Dan finished the bachelor degree of landscape architecture in Beijing Forestry University, Beijing, China, she kept pursue her master degree of landscape architecture in Tongji University, Shanghai, China. She conducted her master study in mixed methods way, doing quantitative and qualitative study at the same time to finish my master thesis, Relationship between Microclimate and Spatial Form of Urban Streets in Shanghai: A Case Study of Jinling East Road Area, Shanghai. She went back to Virginia Tech to pursue the doctoral degree at 2015, focusing on evaluating the sustainable landscape projects in urban setting from the perspectives of designers and users.
