Eric Colbert + Associates (ECA) is an established architecture firm specializing in exciting multifamily residential architecture throughout Washington, DC and beyond. We are looking for architects/designers with 0-5 years experience. Candidates should have the ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, have good written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, and be able to work independently. Candidates with proficiency in Revit are strongly preferred. Working knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Lumion, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
The candidate will work on project teams of 2 to 6 people, and will be able to observe and work on all phases of projects from schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. We are seeking a part-time, contracted project architect with more than five years of related experience to join our high-energy, growing custom residential firm. Residential architects wear many different hats, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys wearing all of them, with a particular focus on construction documents at this time. The project architect will also support the team with pre-design, schematic design, construction administration, and colleague engagement. The candidate must care deeply about design, enjoy helping people remake their homes, and possess the following requirements:
- Competency in hand-drawing, sketching, and lettering
- Extensive experience with AutoCAD and Sketchup
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of residential construction and local building codes
- Ability to work independently on construction documents
- Ability to coordinate with consultants and building department officials
- Experience with the full project life cycle
- Relevant degree in architecture, with professional licensure preferred
Most work will be conducted virtually, with potential for some safely-distanced onsite project work. This is a contract role; pay is hourly and commensurate with experience.
