What is the Industrial Design Advisory Board? It is a collection of alumni and friends working together to help shape and support the Virginia Tech Industrial Design program. Through advisement, advancement, and advocacy, IDAB seeks to ensure students are supported and prepared for professional success.

Do you love Virginia Tech Industrial Design? Would like to be more involved with the Program? Have the time and enthusiasm to be a serviceable member of the Advisory Board? If yes, consider applying to become an IDAB Member!
Who can apply? VT IDS alumni, industry professionals, donors, and other stakeholders who represent a spectrum within, and adjacent to, the industrial design community. Membership is not limited to alumni of Virginia Tech, and may include thought leaders without Virginia Tech alumni connections.
+ Regularly participate (virtually or physically) in respective committee meetings. Meetings may be held as often as once per week.
+ Executive Members and Committee Chairs are expected to attend both the fall and spring meetings at Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus.
+ Encouraged to attend IDAB-sponsored events, especially if the event takes place within the member’s geographic region.
+ Personal expenses for travel and accommodations to meetings or events will be the responsibility of the Advisory Board member.
+ Encouraged to financially support IDAB at a level that is commensurate with ability.
