Not Your Typical Airport
Greg’s studio recently completed designs for an airport “sky lounge.” Air travel is frequently a stressful experience, so the goal of this project was to create a space that made traveling more enjoyable and convenient. The sky lounge includes a dining area, workstations, lounge spaces, showers, and private sleeping rooms.
Senior Anna Judge was inspired by the colors and curves of citrus fruits for the design of her sky lounge. Soft corners allow for direction of circulation while also serving as a cohesive architectural feature, and a palette of neutral colors with pops of orange gives the lounge a clean, contemporary feel. Familiarity is formed through comfortable furniture, warm wood and soft lighting, all of which create an environment that feels residential.
