‘Save Stroubles Creek’ Mini Series

Oct 5th: Campus sketch crawl and seed collection. The sketch crawl was led by two campus landscape architects, Jack Rosenberger and Bob Massengale. We started at the Duck Pond, headed to the Grove and finished at the Drillfield collecting seed and practicing landscape sketching. We collected oak acorns, hickory nuts, catalpa pods, tulip poplar seed heads and many others. The seeds will be processed and stratified at the Urban Horticulture Center for Spring planting. Once the trees are grown, they will be returned to campus during one of the semester planting events.

Oct 12th: Urban Hort Center work day. We bumped up native trees into larger containers and continued to set up our propagation space.
