Project by Industrial Design Student Wins Multiple Awards
Industrial Design student Gabriella Jacobsen entered her third-year studio project – the redesign of a public restroom tampon dispenser – in the 1000 Pitches Competition; she won the competition in the Health Category. She then took that project to the NuSpark Start-up Class and, after teaming with other students from around the University, won the People’s Choice Award in the VT KnowledgeWorks Competition. She has since been nominated for a Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council Innovator Award and Student Innovator & Entrepreneur of the Year by the Pamplin College of Business and the Apex Systems Center.
