Interior Design Student Recognized in NEXT Competition

We are excited to announce that 4th-year interior design student, Josie Price has been selected as a semi-finalist in the 2020 NEXT Student Design Competition.

For this year’s competition, entrants were challenged to imagine the office workspace of the future and tasked with designing a new satellite office for a fictitious global technology firm specializing in health and wellness.

Josie shared her thoughts about the competition:

“This competition encouraged me to rethink how the design of a workplace affects ergonomic productivity, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bringing employees back into the office post-pandemic will present a new set of considerations on how to preserve the vital social community of an office space while maintaining safety,” says Price. “It’s important to consider how a workplace can foster both focus and collaborative work as well as rest and respite to create a joyful and holistic working environment. My design focuses on a simple walkthrough nature as a means of promoting wellness. Utilizing biophilic design through colors and architectural features brings inspiring energy into the workplace that generally lacks in an urban setting.”
