Industrial Design Alumnus Nominated for MTV Video Music Award

Industrial Design alumnus Mel Soria (BS.IDS, 2003) has been nominated for his second MTV Video Music Award. The music video he directed for Fall Out Boy’s “Young and Menace” (co-directed with longtime collaborator Brendan Walter) goes up against Best Rock Video nominees Coldplay, Twenty One Pilots, Green Day, and the Foo Fighters. The winner, selected by popular vote on MTV’s website, will be announced on Aug. 27th at the 34th MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, hosted by Katy Perry. In 2015, Soria’s music video for Fall Out Boy’s hit single “Uma Thurman” won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Rock Video.
