IDS Students Win International Design Competition
Chris Carpenter, James Connors, Zack Filbert, and Kees Luyendijk, a team of Industrial Design second-year students, won the $20,000 first place award in the 3rd Annual LG “Design the Future” International Competition to design the future of mobile communication. Their entry was chosen from over 400 designs submitted.
Together they created the AL-i, a smartphone for one-handed use. Their winning concept showcased detailed, innovative examples of form and interface scenarios for one-handed usage inspired by their own research.
Two third-year ID students, Crosby Reinders and Dino Tsiopanos, each won an honorable mention award for their entries.
