FutureHAUS Exhibited at AIA National Convention in Atlanta
The Virginia Tech FutureHAUS project has been included in the AIA Expo at the Atlanta Convention Center as one of the featured exhibits of the 2015 national American Institute of Architects (AIA) Convention.
FutureHAUS, an applied research project to design and build a prototype residence that incorporates responsive design, prefabrication, and integrated technology, is led by Joseph Wheeler, professor of architecture and co-director of the Center for Design Research, and Denis Gracanin, associate professor in the College of Engineering’s Department of Computer Science. The project team includes Brandon Lingenfelser, a graduate student in the Master of Science in Architecture program, Building Science concentration, and an interdisciplinary group of graduate and undergraduate students from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies, College of Engineering, and College of Science.
