Professors Robert Dunay and Joe Wheeler were invited to exhibit at the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) May 16-19 in New York. This is the third year that Virginia Tech has been invited, and the first time being included in the Materials & Processes section of the Fair. The exhibition, titled “Industrialized Furniture” features work by graduate and undergraduate students from architecture and industrial design and emphasizes innovative use of computer and fabrication technology. A reception for Virginia Tech alumni and designers will be hosted by Haefele on May 18.
The team recently exhibited in Cologne, Germany at the imm Cologne Furniture Fair this past January. Virginia Tech was the only U.S. university invited to participate in the fair, which featured 1200 exhibitors from more than 50 countries.
