Dr. Mintai Kim was promoted to full professor

Dr. Mintai Kim was promoted to full professor, effective June 2021. His research and teaching have been recognized by his peers, as he received multiple international awards including the CELA Excellence in Research and Creative Works Award and the DLA Best Paper award. He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in the areas of digital landscape architecture, Geodesign, and nightscape research. His current research focuses on Geodesign, nightscape research, and climate change, particularly coastal area resilience. His research on climate change is a primary focus of his Design and Planning Studio, where students work with various stakeholders in the Hampton Roads Area to design and plan for sea-level rise.
