
Donna and Robert Dunay exhibit work at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.

Donna and Robert Dunay have been invited to present work at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. The exhibition titled, Time for Design, explores the evolution of design solutions and the intersection of various design disciplines through an in-depth look at intention, concept, process, outcome, and client relations. By focusing on unique, diverse and illuminating examples in our immediate community, the goal is to foster relationship between design and social, economic, and political initiatives.
The installation includes graphic, fashion, interior, industrial design and architecture and also features a series of short video interviews with the participants. The opening reception is Friday Oct. 27, 6 to 8 pm. The exhibition will run through Dec. 10.
Donna Dunay, AIA is presently Chair of the International Archive of Women in Architecture and Professor of Architecture in the School of Architecture + Design at Virginia Tech. Robert Dunay, AIA is T. A. Carter Endowed Professor of Architecture and Director of Industrial Design at Virginia Tech.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Donna Dunay, AIA, will serve on a panel discussion titled, Cities: A Time for Design with Carol Coletta. Introducing the event will be Virginia Commonwealth University President Eugene Trani. Carol Coletta president of CEOs for Cities in Chicago and host of the nationally syndicated public radio show Smart City will moderate the discussion. Focus will be on the role of design in Richmond’s redevelopment. The event will be held on Wednesday, Nov 8 from 6 to 8 pm at the Grace Street Theater, 934 West Grace Street.
