Center for Design Research Expands Work on Robotic Glass Fabrication
The Center for Design Research has recently announced that it will expand the work of the Collaborative Glass Robotics Laboratory, an initiative of Virginia Tech and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Formed in 2013 by assistant professor Nathan King and Stefanie Pender, a glass artist and faculty member in the Glass Program at RISD, the lab has already demonstrated robotic glass blowing, robotically actuated molds, and robot-based 3-D printing for glass.
