Architecture Exchange 3 with Jacques Rancière
Joseph Bedford, Assistant Professor, hosted the third Architecture Exchange with the philosopher Jacques Rancière this weekend, putting him in dialogue with architects, theorists and historians, Peggy Deamer, Anthony Vidler, Michael Young, and Joan Ockman. The event took place at The Cooper Union in New York and was well attended by people flying in from as far as Melbourne and Montreal, and by Virginia Tech alumni and faculty who travelled from Nashville, Pittsburgh, and Washington. The exchange was rich and pushed the relationship between Rancière’s thought and architecture to a new level. Videos will be available shortly, and the book that deepens the exchange will be published by Bloomsbury Press next year, in the new book series Architecture Exchange: Engagements with Contemporary Theory and Philosophy.
