Student Housing Project
Cowgill Lobby
October 2019
Inspired by “Pet Architecture Guide Book”, Chris Pritchett tasked the lab with finding leftover, or unoccupied spaces in downtown Blacksburg, and to create a living space for a student to live off campus. Students could choose between creating one living space, or multiple, modular spaces. The square footage of the buildings range from 900 square feet to as small as 270 square feet. Students were encouraged to keep the designs under 1000 square feet, to focus on the context of their designs, and to clearly demonstrate where their designs would be located.
