Wayne Norbeck is a Visiting Professor of Practice at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and is a co-founder of DXA Studio in New York City.
DXA studio is an award-winning design practice that provides a rare balance of expertly crafted design with technical proficiency. Believing in the power of architecture to positively influence the lives of all that engage it, DXA focuses on authenticity, sustainability and innovation in all their projects.
Wayne presently leads the design of the 300,000 SF HAP 8 condo and rental towers in Chelsea, a high-tech office expansion in Manhattan, a 7-story phased residential development in Astoria, a 144-unit residence in Harlem, a 170-room hotel in TriBeCa, a ground-up multi-family building in the East Village, a non-profit community development in Zambia and a arts-based development initiative in Detroit.
Prior to founding DXA studio, Wayne practiced with Ziger/Snead Architects, TEN-Arquitectos and Gluckman Mayner Architects. His prior projects include art museums, galleries and institutional projects located around the world. Wayne taught at Pratt Institute and the Maryland Institute College of Art and served as a visiting critic at numerous schools including the University of Pennsylvania and the Parsons New School for Design. Wayne is a registered architect in New York, Maryland, Washington DC, Michigan and New Jersey.
