Feuerstein’s research focuses on the corporeal nature of architecture as imaginative representations of our bodily presence throughout architectural design. This work is grounded within German Modernism and especially between the Wars. She has also presented her work at the Society of Architectural Historians, the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, the Environmental Design Research Association, the International Union of Female Architects (UIFA), Women’s Caucus for Art, and Barnard Feminist Art and Art History Conference. Some of this work has appeared in publications including Body and Building (MIT Press), Encyclopedia of Twentieth Century Architecture (Fitzroy Dearborn), InterSight IV (Buffalo) and, as editor, Changing Places: ReMaking Institutional Buildings (White Pine Press.) Her drawings and images have been published in Journal of Utopian Studies, Architectural Record, Architectural Design, and Architecture D’Aujourd’hui.

Feuerstein was Chair of the International Archive of Women in Architecture and Director of the IAWA Center between 1999 – 2005, where she remains as an Advisor on the Executive Board.
