Design in Asia: Iranian Architecture

Join AIA|DC for a panel on Iranian architecture and urban design. Four Iranian designers from the VT WAAC will share their diverse personal and academic experiences, as well as their research analyzing the architectural and social interactions underlying modern Iranian cities.

This lecture will begin by highlighting four Iranian cities – Tehran, Kashan, Kerman, and Isfahan – then zoom into specific public realms to explore their architecture and urban design. The presentation will feature the histories, design strategies, sustainability considerations, and local demographic conditions of each city via architectural case studies.
