John Maher is a Senior Associate of MASS Design Group. John has worked for MASS since 2014, with his focus predominantly on public health. He has led design teams on two hospital projects currently under construction in Rwanda, Munini and Nyarugenge District Hospitals, and most recently New Redemption Hospital in Caldwell, Liberia. He has also worked on projects in East Africa, West Africa, South Asia, and North America. Prior to joining MASS., John was awarded two Public Service Center Fellowships from MIT for water, sanitation, and hygiene projects in Tamale, Ghana. He has also taught as a Visiting Professor at Washington University in St. Louis.

Throughout his years at MASS, he has worked to uphold the firm’s mission: to research, build, and advocate for architecture that promotes justice and human dignity. This lecture is brought to us in conjunction with the College of Architecture and Urban Studies’ Center for Design Research (CDR).
