12:00PM — Burruss 224A
Join I.D.E.A.S. on April 15th in Burruss Hall to hear Jamie Ivey from Ivey Design Group.
Jamie Ivey and her husband Trip Ivey, both 2011 graduates from Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture + Design, started Ivey Design Group last year, and currently work with multiple clients across the country.
For the past four years, Jamie has been working exclusively for Cobico, a hospitality design firm based out of southern California. Cobico is a full-service interior design studio with a focus on creating memorable experiences for hotels and residences across the globe. The firm believes each project is unique, and they pride themselves on creating environments that respond to the architecture, site, culture, and operations. With luxury and boutique hotels driving trends in design, new luxury residential developments are reaching out to hotel designers to bring the same sense of luxury design into the public spaces of residential towers.
Trip’s current projects are diverse, and include the preliminary styling for a 70′ power catamaran, a solar garden flag light, an emergency display screen for institutional buildings, custom designed and fabricated kombucha tea tap handles, and a highly experimental ocean racing yacht.
